Working in collaboration with the interior design team at Nest Design, Thomas Brenton was commissioned to manufacture and install a bespoke staircase balustrade and handcrafted timber handrail for this elegant Sunningdale residence.
Bespoke Sunningdale Design
The design centred around our distinctive Sunningdale spindle, featuring refined geometric detailing that complements the sweeping curved staircase. Each spindle was individually manufactured and finished to create a seamless, flowing balustrade that enhances the architectural focal point of the entrance hall.
A handcrafted solid timber handrail was carefully shaped to follow the complex curves of the staircase, providing both visual warmth and exceptional craftsmanship. The combination of precision metalwork and natural timber creates a timeless feature that sits effortlessly within the home’s sophisticated interior.
This project showcases the versatility of the Sunningdale Spindle within a fully bespoke staircase setting. The geometric Art Deco-inspired detailing provides rhythm and elegance, while the continuous curved handrail highlights the skill involved in both manufacture and installation.
Working closely with Nest Design, every element was tailored to the staircase geometry, resulting in a statement balustrade that combines traditional craftsmanship with contemporary luxury.
